100Party 13.5.2017

Saturday, 13th of May, 2017

Suomi Sata! One hundred years of Finnish independence! And we celebrated it Saturday 13th of May in Kokonniemi. Over the time between 16 and 22 o’clock a ton of people, mostly youngsters, came by and enjoyed all the attractions.

Now imagine you just arrived and now you’re thinking about what to do: You are creative? Go to “Makey Makey”, where you can build your very own instruments, e.g. with bananas! You are adventurous? Try out the Car Crash Simulator and experience how it feels to be held back only by your safety belt! You are sporty and competitive? Go ahead and challenge your friends in a game of Bungeerun!
While being on a wobbly underground you have to reach as far as possible and outdo your opponent. That was probably one of the most commonly used attractions. And that is just a bit of what you are able to do here. There is Table-Ice-Hockey, an Escape Tent, a Circus workshop, and even “Sumo Wrestling” with suits and helmets, to make you feel as if you were a fat Sumo. Like, real fat.

And as you can imagine you are very hungry after giving everything you got to compete in all those different activities! But no worries, we got you covered: Get yourself a hot sausage, or if you want it sweet, a donut or some cotton candy. Take your time, relax a bit and enjoy the good weather on that nice Saturday. Now that you aren’t hungry anymore and calmed down again, how about taking some funny pictures with your friends in the “Funbox”, a photo booth with a variety of different accessories.

The clock approaches 18 o’clock, which means the performance of Yellow Segment in the Kokonhalli is going to start in a few minutes! Their show is sovereign, but then he is about to come. The one so many were waiting for: Lucas. His performance is impressive, the girls are loudly singing with him, and three of them are so lucky to get a rose from him.

With lots of applause and screams of the girls Lucas and his band leave the stage. After getting a signature of Lucas, the masses move outside to enjoy the evening with the rhythmic beats of the DJ. Some get a few more photos taken in the “Funbox”. And those who still haven’t partied enough compete in Bungeerun again. And there is a serious problem regarding donut leftovers. So what to do about this? Let’s do a donut eating competition! The fastest to eat a donut off a string wins. Not everyone was lucky, though, and let his/her donut fall down.

The day is coming to an end. The balloons are given away to the youngsters. And after a day full of fun and enjoyment the festival closes its doors.
